combo gel for acne called Biacna
You'll see a new combo gel for acne called Biacna. It contains tretinoin 0.025% and clindamycin 1% and is for patients over 12.
It's an alternative to other combos...tretinoin/erythromycin (Stievamycin), benzoyl peroxide/clindamycin (BenzaClin, Clindoxyl), and benzoyl peroxide/erythromycin (Benzamycin).
Patients with inflammatory acne usually need combo therapy with tretinoin plus benzoyl peroxide or a topical antibiotic...or benzoyl peroxide plus a topical antibiotic. Explain that these combos are more effective than the single drugs alone.
