Zeneca is now marketing Accolate (zafirlukast), a new ORAL drug for asthma. It's taken chronically to control asthma symptoms.
Accolate is the first drug in a new class...called leukotriene receptor antagonists.
Leukotrienes are released from mast cells after exposure to allergens. They provoke inflammation and bronchoconstriction.
