Two new treatments are now approved for acne inwomen...Ortho's Tri-Cyclen (norgestimate/ethinyl estradiol)...anda new product from Berlex called Diane-35.
Diane-35 is cyproterone acetate and ethinyl estradiol. It'ssimilar to an oral contraceptive...but it's approved only for acne.
Both Tri-Cyclen and Diane-35 probably work by decreasingandrogens which exacerbate acne.
