There's a controversy over whether patients with heart failureshould get warfarin.
Warfarin ISN'T routinely recommended for thesepatients...unless they have another reason to be on it such asatrial fibrillation, or a previous heart attack.
But there's new evidence that warfarin improves survival inpatients with systolic heart failure. These patients seem to have ahigher risk of clotting due to the heart's reduced ability to pump.
