The anticonvulsants Neurontin (gabapentin) and Lamictal (lamotrigine) may be useful for treating bipolar disorder.
They seem to have mood-stabilizing effects...similar to valproate (Depakene) and carbamazepine (Tegretol).
Lamictal also seems to have some antidepressant effects.
