The Amer College of OB/GYNs recently released new guidelines for using oral contraceptives in women with chronic conditions.

Hypertension. OCs can increase blood pressure in some women...possibly increasing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Women with hypertension can use OCs only if they're under 35...don't smoke...and their blood pressure is well-controlled.
