Hyperlipidemia. Mostly with protease inhibitors...Invirase, Norvir, Viracept, etc. Suggest checking lipid levels periodically to catch it before cardiovascular problems develop.
Consider a statin for HIV patients with hyperlipidemia. Stick with pravastatin (Pravachol) or fluvastatin (Lescol) to avoid CYP3A4 interactions with protease inhibitors.
