Pennsaid is the first topical NSAID for knee osteoarthritis.
Pennsaid (diclofenac) improves knee mobility and reduces pain, swelling, and tenderness. But it's not as effective for the hip...because the hip joint is farther from the skin.
The main advantage is that Pennsaid causes fewer systemic problems than oral NSAIDs.
