The first biologic treatment for psoriasis, Amevive (Am-uh-veev), is now approved and on the market.

Amevive (alefacept) is an immunosuppressant. It inhibits the T-cells that contribute to psoriasis.

It's given IM once weekly for 12 weeks...followed by a 12-week break. Some patients will be taught to self-inject IM at home.
