Health Canada has approved the first "biologic therapy" for allergy-related asthma, called Xolair (zo-lair).
Xolair (omalizumab) is an important new option...but only for a select group of asthma patients.
It's only for patients with moderate to severe asthma triggered by an allergic reaction...only when inhaled steroids aren't enough...and only in patients 12 and older.
