The U.S. just approved a new IV antibiotic called Tygacil.

Tygacil (tigecycline) is the first in a new class of antibiotics called glycylcyclines (gly-sil-CY-kleens).

These are similar to tetracyclines...but are designed to overcome resistance problems.
