Canadians can now get the new long-acting insulin called Lantus.
Lantus (insulin glargine) is a synthetic insulin that differs from human insulin by 3 amino acids.
It's longer acting than NPH or Ultralente...and doesn't usually produce peak concentrations like other insulins.
