Canadian physicians will be prescribing Advicor, the first combo cholesterol product containing niacin.
It contains either 500 or 1000 mg of extended-release niacin (Niaspan) combined with 20 mg of lovastatin (Mevacor, etc).
But it's not intended to be used as INITIAL cholesterol therapy.
