Canadians may not be able to get epinephrine inhalers (Primatene Mist, etc) from the U.S. anymore. These inhalers were discontinued in Canada several years ago.
Many people still rely on OTC epinephrine inhalers for mild intermittent asthma...or when they don't have access to their Rx inhalers. But OTC epinephrine inhalers DON'T offer an important benefit.
Encourage patients to get a salbutamol inhaler, if appropriate.
