Exubera (inhaled insulin) will NOT be launched in Canada...due to lack of enthusiasm by patients and prescribers.
Some doctors were worried about long-term safety of Exubera because it decreases lung function. Others felt that the inhaler was just too large. And some thought it was too hard to convert a person's dose from injectable to inhaled insulin.
It has been taken off the market worldwide.
