The Public Health Agency of Canada is offering new recommendations for using vaccines containing thimerosal.
Thimerosal in vaccines is used to kill organisms during manufacturing...and acts as a preservative in multi-dose vaccines.
Mercury concerns. Thimerosal is partially metabolized to ETHYLmercury. Many parents are concerned because mercury is a known neurotoxin. But the concern of mercury poisoning is with METHYLmercury...the type found in the fish we consume.
