Lax-A-Day (polyethylene glycol 3350) is a new OTC laxative

Lax-A-Day (polyethylene glycol 3350) is a new OTC laxative.

It has the same PEG that's used in bowel preps (Colyte, GoLytely, etc)...but Lax-A-Day doesn't contain electrolytes. These aren't needed because the lower doses used for constipation don't cause significant water and electrolyte loss.

Many physicians and patients prefer PEG laxatives.
