Two new Rx steroid eyedrops called Lotemax and Alrex

Two new Rx steroid eyedrops called Lotemax and Alrex will be hitting the market in Canada.

They both contain the corticosteroid, loteprednol etabonate.

Loteprednol is less likely to increase intraocular pressure than other ophthalmic steroids...probably because it's converted to an inactive metabolite by enzymes in the eye.
