Adults with epilepsy will have a new option for partial onset seizures called Fycompa (fi-COM-puh, perampanel).
It will be used as an add-on for patients who aren't adequately controlled on other anticonvulsants.
Reps will promote Fycompa as a novel treatment...it's the only selective glutamate receptor antagonist. It might be an option when other anticonvulsants don't work.
