new lower dose levonorgestrel intrauterine system called Jaydess (jae-DESS)
You'll hear about a new lower dose levonorgestrel intrauterine system called Jaydess (jae-DESS).
Jaydess releases on average 6 mcg of levonorgestrel per day over 3 years...compared to 14 mcg per day over 5 years for Mirena.
Jaydess is smaller and has a narrower insertion tube than Mirena. It will be an option for women with a small uterine cavity and/or narrow cervical canal, such as women who haven't had children.
