Patients or parents will ask about the new Health Canada warnings for ADHD drugs and the risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
These will be similar to the existing warnings for the nonstimulant ADHD drug, atomoxetine (Strattera, etc).
The new warnings will alert patients about reports of suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, and completed suicides with all other ADHD drugs, such as amphetamines (Adderall XR, etc), methylphenidate (Ritalin, etc), and guanfacine (Intuniv XR).
