New warnings will raise concerns about a possible increased risk of miscarriage with a single dose of fluconazole (Diflucan One, etc).
Vaginal azoles (miconazole, etc) are first-line for vaginal candidiasis in pregnancy. But the hassle of using a vaginal product for a week may lead to women wanting to use oral fluconazole instead.
Current labelling warns about birth defects with LONG-term use of HIGH-dose fluconazole... 400 to 800 mg/day.
