Patients with an egg allergy will be eligible for ALL flu vaccines this year, including the intranasal vaccine (FluMist Quadrivalent).

Previous guidelines advised against giving FluMist to these patients due to lack of safety data.

But now we know that patients allergic to eggs are NOT more likely to develop anaphylaxis or other hypersensitivity reactions to any of the current flu vaccines than patients without an egg allergy.
