Dabigatran is the first generic direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) hitting pharmacy shelves.
Generic dabigatran will cost about $85/month, versus $110/month for brand Pradaxa or Eliquis (apixaban)...or $95/month for Xarelto (rivaroxaban) or Lixiana (edoxaban).
You'll see the usual dabigatran strengths of 110 mg and 150 mg from Apotex...now as blue-and-buff-coloured caps instead of blue or white. Expect to see the 75 mg generic strength come later.
