Prevent Mix-Ups Between Lamotrigine and Labetalol

A handful of recent errors will put focus on mix-ups between lamotrigine (Lamictal) and labetalol (Trandate).

In three cases, pregnant women were accidentally given lamotrigine instead of labetalol. This could pose risks to the fetus...cause rashes in the mom...or lead to untreated hypertension in pregnancy.
