Oral candidiasis is most common in newborns, older adults, and patients with risk factors (steroid inhaler use, dentures, smokers, etc).

This oral yeast infection causes raised white plaques on the tongue and inside the mouth. It’s usually asymptomatic at first...but may cause discomfort or taste changes.
