Cholera is an acute bacterial illness that can cause diarrhea. It’s more common in places where water is unsafe to drink and with poor sanitation, including many tropical areas of Asia and Africa.

Vaxchora is a live attenuated vaccine given as a single oral dose. Similar to Dukoral, it covers Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1, the most common cause of cholera.
