Don’t Let Return-to-Stocks Become “Return-to-Risk”

You’ll see a renewed focus on preventing mishaps with return-to-stock (RTS) meds...due to more errors reported to ISMP Canada.

A med can usually be returned to stock when it hasn’t left the pharmacy (patient didn’t pick up, etc) and can be returned to the shelves to be dispensed to another patient.

But errors can occur if a process isn’t in place to ensure the med gets back to the correct stock location.
