A new “optimized” formulation of oral semaglutide (Rybelsus) may cause confusion.
The new formulation has improved absorption by removing two excipients...microcrystalline cellulose and povidone K90.
This means less semaglutide is needed per tablet in the optimized formulation to achieve the same blood concentration as the original tabs.
