Do all the new antibacterial soaps, lotions, and gels really help prevent colds and flu?
Antibacterial soaps (Hibitane, pHisoHex, etc) are useful in hospitals and clinics to reduce the spread of BACTERIAL infections.
But the consumer antibacterial soaps (Dial, etc) are no better than plain soap to prevent the spread of VIRAL infections such as colds and flu. These soaps are antibacterial...not antiviral.
