new warning about the risk of congestive heart failure with Sporanox (itraconazole)

There is now a new warning about the risk of congestive heart failure with Sporanox (itraconazole).

There are rare cases of Sporanox patients developing CHF.

Watch for patients with ventricular dysfunction who get Sporanox for fungal nail or skin infections. Suggest Lamisil (terbinafine) instead...so far it hasn't been reported to cause cardiac problems.
