Humira, a new biologic therapy for rheumatoid arthritis
Health Canada has approved Humira, a new biologic therapy for rheumatoid arthritis.
Humira (adalimumab) works similar to Remicade (infliximab) and Enbrel (etanercept). These block tumor necrosis factor alpha, or TNF-alpha.
People with rheumatoid arthritis have too much TNF-alpha that attacks bones, cartilage, and joints...leading to inflammation.
