Plan B to Schedule II

Health Canada has approved moving Plan B to Schedule II.

Patients no longer need a prescription, but will consult a pharmacist because supplies will be behind-the-counter.

Plan B contains two tablets of levonorgestrel 0.75 mg. The first tablet should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. The second tablet 12 hours later.
