many drugs can cause sweating

People are surprised that many drugs can cause sweating.

Antidepressants are a common culprit. About 1 in 7 patients on venlafaxine (Effexor XR) get some degree of sweating. Up to 1 in 16 on bupropion (Wellbutrin XL or SR) will get some sweating.

It's also fairly common with SSRIs and TCAs. It's thought to be caused by an imbalance in serotonin and norepinephrine levels.
