You'll soon see a new inhaler for asthma called Alvesco (ciclesonide). It was just approved by Health Canada.
It's a corticosteroid...like Flovent and Pulmicort.
Alvesco deposits about half the amount of drug into the mouth as Flovent and Pulmicort. This may mean fewer local side effects such as oral thrush and hoarseness.
