The latest Canadian Paediatric Society guidelines emphasize that head lice are not a reason for kids to miss school.
Many schools and daycare centres have a "no nit" policy...but the Paediatric Society says that's too nit-picky. They say even kids with active head lice should be allowed to go to school.
Advise teachers to discourage direct head-to-head contact...and sharing of hats, brushes, or combs.
