Xarelto (zah-rel-toe) is the latest ORAL anticoagulant to hit the Canadian market

Xarelto (zah-rel-toe) is the latest ORAL anticoagulant to hit the Canadian market...just a few months after Pradax.

Both will be used as alternatives to low-molecular-weight heparin (Lovenox, etc)...to prevent clots after knee or hip replacement.

Patients will take Xarelto 10 mg orally once daily...for 14 days after a knee replacement or 35 days after a hip replacement.
