overdoses with venlafaxine (Effexor XR, etc) are more risky than with SSRIs

Health Canada is now warning that overdoses with venlafaxine (Effexor XR, etc) are more risky than with SSRIs.

As little as 1000 mg of venlafaxine...seven 150 mg caps... will kill some people.

SSRI overdoses are rarely fatal. But venlafaxine increases serotonin AND norepinephrine. Too much norepi causes high blood pressure, arrhythmias, seizures, etc.
