Axert (almotriptan) is now the first triptan approved for treating migraines in adolescents.
Migraines are common in kids...especially teens.
Acetaminophen sometimes helps...but ibuprofen is usually better. Recommend ibuprofen 7.5 to 10 mg/kg...up to 800 mg/dose in older teens.
