Some patients will now set a quit date to stop smoking up to 12 weeks after starting Champix therapy...instead of 1 to 5 weeks.
For patients who can't stop smoking sooner, waiting 12 weeks seems to increase abstinence rates from about 12% to 37% by week 24.
