See updated information from the FDA concerning heart failure risk with saxagliptin and alogliptin

You'll hear more about a possible increased risk of heart failure with saxagliptin (Onglyza, etc) and alogliptin (Nesina, etc).

So far, saxagliptin has the strongest evidence. There's one heart failure hospitalization for every 143 patients treated with saxagliptin over 2 years.

Alogliptin seems less likely to be linked to heart failure...sitagliptin (Januvia, etc) doesn't seem to be a problem...and it's too early to say if linagliptin (Trajenta, etc) increases risk.
