Health Canada is warning about a potentially dangerous interaction between clopidogrel (Plavix, etc) and repaglinide (GlucoNorm, etc).
We usually think of clopidogrel as a CYP2C19 substrate. But clopidogrel also inhibits CYP2C8...causing repaglinide levels to increase.
In fact, using these drugs together for even ONE DAY can cause repaglinide levels to increase over 5-fold...and may lead to significant hypoglycemia.
