Consider Brivaracetam (Brivlera) As An Alternative To Levetiracetam

You'll see a new antiepileptic called Brivlera (briv-LAIR-ah).

Brivlera (brivaracetam) belongs to the "racetam" class of antiepileptics...like levetiracetam (Keppra, etc).

Both bind to synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) in the brain to control seizures. Brivlera has a higher affinity for SV2A than levetiracetam...but it's too soon to say if it's more effective.
