Questions are coming up about whether it's okay for patients to switch antiplatelet meds after a coronary stent.

Current guidelines prefer the combo of aspirin plus Brilinta (ticagrelor) or Effient (prasugrel) after an acute coronary syndrome...instead of aspirin plus clopidogrel.

Earlier studies suggest that Brilinta or Effient reduces CV risk more than clopidogrel...but they cause more bleeding and cost a lot more.
