Akynzeo (ah-KIN-zee-oh) will be a new ORAL antiemetic combo to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.

Akynzeo combines the 5-HT3 antagonist, palonosetron (Aloxi), with a new long-acting neurokinin-1 (NK-1) antagonist, netupitant. Think of netupitant as an alternative to aprepitant (Emend).

NK-1 antagonists boost the efficacy of 5-HT3 antagonists to prevent nausea and vomiting.
