Emerade (epinephrine) will compete with EpiPen and Allerject for treating anaphylactic reactions.
It comes in the usual 0.3 mg strength for adults...and a new higher 0.5 mg dose as an option for patients over 60 kg.
Experts suggest an epinephrine dose of 0.3 to 0.5 mg to treat anaphylaxis in adults. But point out this isn't based on any hard evidence...and either dose could be used for heavier patients.
