Organon will introduce Mircette, a new birth control pill.It'll be out next month in the U.S...and later in Canada.
It contains ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel...like Marvelonand Ortho-Cept. But Mircette contains a LOWER dose of estrogen...and has a unique dosing regimen.
Mircette starts with 20 mg of ethinyl estradiol and 150 mg ofdesogestrel for 21 days. This is followed by just TWO days ofplacebo tablets...then five days of ethinyl estradiol 10 mg.
