New STD treatment guidelines.

The CDC just released their new STD treatment guidelines. They're an update of their previous guidelines from 5 years ago...and similar to the latest Canadian STD guidelines.

For uncomplicated gonorrhea, they recommend a single oral dose of ciprofloxacin 500 mg...ofloxacin 400 mg...cefixime 400 mg...or an IM injection of ceftriaxone 125 mg.

To also cover chlamydia, add azithromycin 1 g...doxycycline 100 mg BID for 7 days...or tetracycline 500 mg QID for 7 days.
