Now there's a new norethindrone-estradiol patch called Estalis (Novartis). It's used for menopausal or postmenopausal symptoms.
It comes in two strengths of norethindrone...140 or 250 mcg. Both strengths have 50 mcg of estradiol. It's applied twice weekly in either a continuous or sequential regimen.
The sequential regimen uses an estradiol-only patch during the first 2 weeks of the cycle...and then Estalis for the next 2 weeks.
