some children getting high doses of amoxicillin

There's news about some children getting high doses of amoxicillin. Some are due to dispensing errors.

Recently, a baby was given one-half teaspoon of amoxicillin with clavulanate POWDER instead of the LIQUID. She ended up in the ER with vomiting...but there were no serious long-term problems.

Kids usually don't need their stomachs pumped unless they get over 250 mg/kg...but they may need rehydration due to vomiting and diarrhea.
